How to find venues to play

Build a shortlist, not a giant contact dump

The useful question is not “Which venues exist?” It is “Which rooms fit this act, this market, and this live setup?” Use the directory to narrow the field before you contact anyone.

1

Filter the market

Search a city, state, or province and choose the closest genre fit.

2

Compare the room

Review capacity, age policy, and the venue's own website before pitching.

3

Unlock the route

Pro members can open the published booking email or artist submission form.

How to submit music to venues

Make the venue’s first click useful

Read the current venue instructions before writing. A concise pitch should explain the act, live setup, proposed market and date range, then link to music or live video. One current EPK is easier to evaluate than a trail of attachments and social links.

A booking-ready EPK should make clear:

what the act sounds like, what the live show looks like, where the artist is based, what proof is relevant, and who the venue should contact.

Venue finder FAQ

Before you start your venue search

How many venues are in the EncoreSpot music venue finder?+

The directory currently contains 420 bars and music venues across the United States and Canada. All 420 listings are searchable by location and genre.

What venue information can I see for free?+

Everyone can search venue names, cities, states or provinces, accepted genres, listed capacity, age policy, and the latest directory check date.

What do EncoreSpot Pro members unlock?+

Pro members can view the published artist booking email or official submission form associated with each listing, together with the source used for the latest check.

Does a venue listing guarantee that my act will be booked?+

No. A listing only indicates that an artist submission route was published when the source was checked. Availability, fit, response, terms, and booking decisions remain entirely with the venue.

How should a band contact a music venue?+

Read the venue's current instructions, keep the message specific, include the proposed market and date range, describe the live setup, and share one current EPK containing music, live video, photos, and booking contact details.
