Amara Osei

Amara Osei is a British-Ghanaian vocalist, songwriter, and producer based in London. Her music sits at the intersection of neo-soul, Afrobeats, and contemporary jazz — rich vocal harmonies over organic instrumentation, punctuated by West African rhythmic patterns and the warmth of analog production. Born in South London to Ghanaian parents, Amara grew up between two musical worlds: her mother's Highlife records and the UK garage, grime, and soul scenes pulsing through Brixton and Peckham. She studied jazz vocal performance at the Royal Academy of Music before releasing her debut project "Between Two Suns" in 2024. "Between Two Suns" was longlisted for the Mercury Prize and earned Amara a spot on BBC's Sound of 2025 list. She has since collaborated with Ezra Collective, Sault, and performed at Glastonbury, WOMAD, and Afro Nation. Amara is currently finishing her second album, a bilingual project recorded between London and Accra, with co-production from Kwes and Inflo.
